Forum Discussion
- robatthelakeExplorerWell the good news is that the Replacement Parts have arrived at my Door and Yeah they are exactly what I have been trying to buy since Last November!
Thank you to all who offered positive advice!
It took me working alone about an hour to reassemble and install the steps!
They work great and will certainly be a step up from the non working situation that we have put up with the last six months.
So a message to the people at Lippert who are the distributors of Kwikee but we’re not interested in comparing their parts lists, and all those RV Repair places that I visited , that refused to discuss the possibility that some of the current parts actually are identical to the Old ones I send you a wave of that middle didgit!
Thanks To Google/Safari for leading me to e trailer.com who actually show pictures clear enough to actually read the part numbers visible on the parts they sell!
I should add it was the casting numbers as opposed to catalog parts numbers that showed me the correct linkage! - robatthelakeExplorerSo as it stands I have sourced and ordered a new Linkage for my Kwikee Series 32 Steps from e- Trailer !
The part number which appears on the central curved portion of the Linkage is 151364.
The picture appears correct and the price although in US Dollars was certainly acceptable!
Fingers crossed everything works out!
Once again thank you to everyone who responded. Many of you are familiar names to me on this forum. ,some have helped me in previous inquiries!
This is still the most useful Forum for those of us who have older equipment and the spirit to keep things going! - You may try to identify your exact parts using this Kwikee parts identification
- gswcgiExplorerTry Northwest RV Supply in Eugene, OR. I have found many, many parts there. Their phone number is: 541 746 9092. Good luck
- OP;
Do you have the part number? - BFL13Explorer IIMight be easier to swap out and use ordinary pull down steps?
- Ron3rdExplorer IIIA lot of that old stuff shows up on Ebay from time to time.
- robatthelakeExplorerThank you for your replies to date! I wasn’t sure if this question was even allowed.
What I have found is that the Kwikee Steps on my particular rig are series 32, but the gearbox ,motor and linkage are the discontinued 50 mm Shaft ,Design.
I have broken the linkage only and the newer design will not couple to the Older Motor due to changes in the drive..
It seems that every RV Repair place has gotten rid of their Old Stock and the Newer employees don’t seem to able to think the way those Old Guys and Gals used to.
As My Rig ages it is becoming more and more difficult to obtain simple mechanical and even Cosmetic Parts . - wa8yxmExplorer IIIVisone RV in Kentucky.. IT's an RV graveyard but .. They have lots of OEM parts
