I sure could use a picture

I hate to ask, but could someone with a late model Duo Therm Penguin AC post a picture of how the fan blower motor is mounted to the frame structure in their unit? I ask because I need to adapt a new style fan motor to my earlier model Penguin AC, and a picture is worth a thousand words. Many thanks!
  • Well, I can't do anything with the iphone photos(ignorance).
The motor that she finally found that works is model #: F48P80A1, serial #13108M1, followed by all the standard spec info. At the bottom of the placard it has: Assembled in Mexico, 3109770.002

The mounting is via 2 end brackets which are screwed to the pan and the motor attaches via the long through-bolts which hold the motor together.
  • Mine are not late model (year 2003), but the info I have might help. I replaced one of the motors about 7 years ago. I had a hard time getting the right motor. They sent me one with welded-on tabs(for mounting) and mine mount differently. I sent it back, and pleaded for help. Finally, I got to talk to a lady that knew her stuff, and she found me the right motor, even though her catalog system did NOT show it to be the correct motor for my Penguins. I think it's that they really don't want you to replace the motor. The way I see it, a RV techie could not make money doing it. It takes too many hours, and the customer would not be happy. IMO it's only cost effective when the owner does the work. The job is not easy, and it takes patience, savy, and a couple of special tools.
I went up and took a picture of the motor info-plate and a photo of the mount system (with my wife's iphone). I do not know how to load them into my PhotoBucket, where I could then post them here. However, she can e-mail them to me and I can forward the e-mail to you. If you want to see the photos, PM me your e address.
