Inside the freezer ...

No more vertical freezers for me. Ever. Zip.

I once performed a temperature gain test on a vertical freezer. Opening the door twice for 10-seconds each event equaled, opening a chest freezer door 14-times at 25 seconds (I had to vary the event-timing to make the comparisons equivalent).

Yeah I know about the "won't fit - wasted space" quandary in an RV. But I overlaid insulation on the freezer. 2" everywhere except where I had to shoot foam. The freezer maintains a reliable -11F. The girls love ice-cream but screaming occurs when the cold induces a sinus headache. The refrigerator with circulation fans (2) maintains 36F. A sopping wet towel with chlorine bleach drops added draped over top the vegetables in the bin keeps lettuce and celery snapping fresh for many days.

-11F ice cubes snap and pop when liquid is poured over them. I keep thick glass mugs in the freezer and man oh man lemonade and iced tea burns all the way down.

But if you turned the door up-side-down, wouldn't all the juice cans fall out? ;)

The lugs on the upper right are for if the door is turned upside-down, to hold the shelf.
You really don't want all that much weight on the doors, so small shelves are a good thing.

For the extra room I put in an Extra freezer (Engel 12/120 volt job draws a great whomping 36 watts when running.. right, that's about the same as a dual bulb 1141 light fixture of which I have 5 or 6 or two of the single bulb version of which I have a bunch more.. in short.. NOT MUCH POWER)

We have same on our Dometic freezer door

Left one we used for frozen concentrate....apple, orange, daiquiri, mojito etc.
Right one (we had 2 ) used for frozen peas, corn, carrots and/or blue ice paks

Still ended up with plenty room in freezer on shelves for weeks worth of meats etc.

I found them pretty useless so I took them out and now I can put larger items on the shelves in the freezer.

Obviously the right one is designed for this...

Isn't there supposed to be a second shelf/tray on the upper right?

I think our ViewFinder came with one, but we took it out to put in our tall trash container.
