Inverter Remote Location

I’m going to stick one of those removable shelves on the wall and have a bit of exposed wiring. If i don't like it there, easy enough to change. I was going to mount the Xantrex XC remote in the closet wall with wiring concealed. There was plenty thickness for the unit, but Xantrex in their wisdom put the connector on the back of the remote...go figure.

What kind of remote? A simple on/off or a big deal settings panel thing? Say what the model of the inverter is to clarify.
