- MFLNomad III can't say on the hydraulic slide, but I think the electric operated work harder coming in, than going out. I also try to keep the door open, when putting large slide in/out.

The slide has always been much slower coming in than going out. .
Bear in mind, on the extend side of a hydraulic cylinder there is just an empty tube with the fluid bearing on the entire face of the piston which creates more power, on the retract side the rod occupies part of the tube so the hyd. pressure can only bear on the reduced surface area of the piston which reduces the potential power it can generate, but given equal volume of fluid, means the cylinder will move faster. - stickdogExplorerNever thought bringing in the slide 3 seconds quicker mattered however if we consider the butterfly effect there could be something earth shattering.
- Johno02ExplorerOn our 30' class A, having a door or window does make a siginificant difference when retracting or extending the living room slide. Not so much on the smaller bedroom one. For others, may not make any difference.
- Dutch_12078Explorer III doubt that leaving a door or window open will make any significant difference. The slide wiper seals in mid travel are quite flexible, and with even a minimal air pressure increase the air would likely just slip by them. And that's without giving any consideration to the total RV interior volume that any compressed air has available to expand into.
- base1957ExplorerHave never heard that so no I do not...well.the driver door I do
- LadyRVerExplorer IIDo you leave your door open to give the air which is compressing when retracting the slide?? I never knew to do this until a rv tech told me to.
The air from the opened up space has to go somewhere.. just a thought.
