I like the Mega. Except for the dumb factory selection of 20 amp 100 volt schottky rectifiers (2), it's a stout unit. By replacing the above rectifiers with identical appearance EIGHTY amp ONE HUNDRED FIFTY VOLT schottky rectifiers it cures the problem why the bi-polars failed. And yes the Vf of the rectifier upgrade remains the same. The P/N junction of the 80 amp pieces is 5-times the size and where as before, little heat was being transferred to the Megawatt case, now it gets -much- warmer and the discrete body (plastic) remains much cooler. The outside 2nd "pusher" muffin fan is surprising in it's effectiveness. It dumped toroid temperature from 137 degrees to 103F. Cool electrolytic capacitors are happy electrolytic capacitors. Multiple 20 mm MOVS and TVS diodes tone down the hysterics on the incoming signal AC.
Sure beats shuffleboard, bingo, and watching reruns of the Dukes of Hazzard.
