Jayco Popup Converter issue

I just purchased a 2008 Jayco 806 popup. The converter model is an Elixer ELX-20. When I flip the 15 Amp breaker on that controls the lights, outlets, etc., it emits an awful squeal. It is currently not hooked up to a 12v battery source, on 110. Everything seems to still work but the squeal is just loud and annoying. Is the converter dying or is this an alarm indicating an issue?

    Well WFCO does have a well deserved poor reputation. But yes they do turn out the odd GOOD ONE (and PD the odd bad one) but what sets them apart is the Good/Bad Ratio.

    And Sidecar..... It's not just YOUR HOME STATE,, It's MY RETIREMENT (Retired State of Mi. Employee :) so Thanks for the plug.

    Why I bought what I did (RV). Made here in Michigan as well. Palomino, Colon, Michigan, south of Three Rivers.

    Watched the video, you are right on, it's a Piezo alarm, probably for the absence of a 12 volt battery source.

    IMPRESSION:
    Sounds similar to a piezo annunciator. The chatter at the end is common if an alarm circuit does not have threshold hysteresis.

    Therefore---

    Why not connect it to a battery and measure voltage? I much prefer diagnostics over guesswork...
