Keystone Bullet Furnace Problem

I have a 2015 Keystone Bullet travel trailer. As of a couple of days ago the furnace will not start (produce heat). When I switch it on, the furnace initially acts like it is starting. Cool air comes out of the exhaust port. I can smell a hint of propane in the exhaust air. But the exhaust air never warms up. After a minute or two the air flow out the exhaust port stops. If I power cycle the furnace switch, the same happens again.

I can start the burners on the range, so I think the propane supply is fine.

It seems like the furnace is not self igniting the propane when I turn the furnace on.

Can someone tell me if there is a way to manually ignite the propane once and if this would restore the self igniting mechanism? Or what one does to repair the self igniting mechanism?
  • 7900 & 8012 Have to pull from inside RV

8500 & 8900 Access via outside panel on RV

  • The furnace is an Atwood. The user's documentation is labeled as being for Hydro Flame Furnace models Series 7900-II, 8012-II, Series 8500-IV, and Series 8900-III. I am guessing that I would need to get access to the furnace to be able to say which of these models is the one in the trailer.

It is not possible to hear the spark electrode fire. The problem occurred in an "overnight and after travel" scenario. Unit worked on evening of Day X, unit did not work on Day X + 1, after a 4 hour drive.

There is mention of a bad connection on wire from circuit board to spark electrode. I am wondering if vibration during the drive led to a disruption of the connection of the wire to the circuit board or to the spark electrode.
  • T-stat is working...cause fan comes on

Fan is working cause cold air blows out registers

Sail switch is closing allowing DC to circuit board for ignition & gas valve opening (slight smell of propane)

    So it sounds like:
    Clogged burner slots----propane obstructed
    Improper spark gap (1/8")-----no spark
    Bad spark electrode-------no spark
Bad connection on wire from circuit board to spark electrode
    Bad circuit board

NO you can not light it manually.

Can you hear the spark electrode fire.....CLICK, CLICK, CLICK?

    What is the furnace BRAND/Model?
  • Could you please share the model of furnace that you have?
