should I just get emery cloth and sand them down and put a bit of oil to keep the rust away? thanks all

I have a problem with my remote control mirrors on my Hurricane 32E. There is no power to the control switch. The schematic indicates a 1 amp fuse, but I cannot find it anywhere. I think it may be an in-line type, but can't see one in the power wire that I can access. Any ideas?
