Hi all I have 2010 28ft cougar 5th wheel
My landing gear pops fuses
Batteries fine but I believe this motor model1a065012-02-01is something the original owner had swapped
From what I can tell its 5000lb lift. The 30 amp fuses will pop after 5 seconds maybe quicker.
I am hopeful someone can help me.

That is the model number for a Stromberg Carson Landing Gear Motor rated at 5500#
It is/can be used on Atwood, Venture, Lippert landing gear systems
Part number is LG-142178

It sounds more like the Up/Down Switch is your issue
Part # (LG-145236)

Replacement Switch

There are only 2 wires on motor
Black & Red
One is for UP and one is for Down

4 wires on switch
Pink...DC+ from Battery with 30A In-line Fuse
Red....Goes to Red on motor
Black...Goes to Black on motor
Black,,,,,,,,,,this is the DC- to battery

Wiring Diagram included with new switch
Is it time for your medication or mine?

The rocker switch could be bad. it has contacts that wear out and you then need a new switch. Doesn't mean it blows fuses, but it might. ? It can just not work right.

If anything like the in/out switch wiring for the slide, it is complicated wiring and you need to put the right colours in place with the new switch. Best to take a photo first or make a drawing.

It loaded and uploaded when purchased and loaded one more time unloaded and then that's it now it pops all the time. I don't know if Goin up or down is different as it pops so quickly
Are yoh saying bypass the rocker switch?

Not clear, sorry. Did it work since you bought it and parked it at home and they worked then, and now it acts up at your first camping spot like this is the first time you used the jacks? Any work done in the compartment lately that could have accidently damaged the jack's wiring?

Does the fuse blow retracting and extending or just one way? Can you do your own work enough to pull the switch and trying to by-pass the contacts so with the right wires touching end to end you can see if it runs?

Well I've had it two years it never did it from when we bought until i parked at our first spot

It does it now after 5 to 10 seconds.
I hand crank mostly someone said try 35 Amp fuse but not sure what that would help me with

When did it start blowing fuses? Have you seen it working properly since you bought it? How long ago was the repair job? If recent, will the folks who repaired it have a look for free?

The original owner had the motor changed
There was a landing gear insurance claim he did because of something getting damaged he said landing gear and motor were replaced

It's good landing gear is hand cranked, so could be:
Wiring or switch issue, if not, motor is worn, and drawing to many amps.
Doubtful motor is "to small for trailer", as that would have caused problems for the original owner.

See about the up/down switch above.

What brand of front jacks? You can look up the part # for the motor and see if yours is an equal replacement. Eg, Amazon sells parts like that and the ad will say if it goes with that model of jacks.

No wiring issues we checked all wiring
Someone suggested this motor is simply to small for the trailer

Oh it moves with hand crank thats fine

Will it move by the hand crank ok? If not and is jammed the motor fuse could blow.

Is there a wiring short like a cut in the wire's insulation touching?

Is the up/down switch shorting in the back of it with all the wire contacts there?, Had that with the in/out switch for the slide in the 5er we had. Same kind of switch ISTR. New switch fixed that.
