- AlmotExplorer IIIAssuming we can trust this information - fly by night Chinese maker definitely should be trusted, right? :) - 250 lumens is the same or slightly brighter than incandescent 20W RV bulb. It can also be yellow-er or pink-er, or blue-er, or it can have 1/10 of advertised brightness. Happened many times. This is why people here prefer not to pay more than $1 or 2 a pop. Check Ebay for SMD 48.
- drsteveExplorerYou generally get what you pay for in LEDs.
- AlmotExplorer IIIAmazon these days is a new Ebay, only more expensive. Typically, on Ebay this board costs $5 each, or $10 for a pack of 4-6. Amazon item is different from Ebay boards not in quality (hard to believe in this), but in that it has plastic cover that goes around the back and rigid-mounted 1156 connector, while Ebay boards are self-adhesive with 1156 male connector on pigtail. I am not sure that plastic cover is better though. Contrary to what seller says, there is quite a bit of heat from boards of that size.
- westendExplorerI think it would be about equivalent to the bulb it replaces. Note: this LED lamp comes with a regulator circuit that may cause some electrical interference to some radios and TV's.
- tenbearExplorerThe description say it has 24 2835 LEDs. If I assume they mean 3528 LEDs then I would expect the lights to be substantially dimmer, about 50%, than the 1156 lights. I am using 36-3528 panels and I find them about the same as the 1141 lights which are not quite as bright as the 1156.

The 2835 LED chip has just about the same footprint as a 3528 but can take a lot more current, hence, more light output. - tenbearExplorerDo you really mean 1157 as stated in your post? This is claimed to be a replacement for an 1156. The 1157 is a 2 contact base while the 1156 is a single contact.

I stand corrected. :S
Live and learn. Thanks for the correction. - Tom_M1ExplorerI replaced several of my incandescent bulbs with LEDs last year and here's a link to my results:
LED install
The LEDs are holding up well. No failures yet. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerI paid
A LOT OF MONEY
For "Genuine 7 watt CREE 1156 bulbs" from a USA CREE dealer
They check out wonderfully at 2.6 watts at 12.0 vdc
They put out as much light as a $1.99 25SMD panel but the light is bluer.
