Looking for a small 50-80 qt. Freezer

I'm having trouble finding a small freezer thats freezer only that I can put in my storage compartment or in the overhead bunk in my class C for our ong travel excursions. Anybody have an suggestions or know of any manufactures I can take a look at. Everything I've found is combination refrigerator/freezer and the freezer is to small.

Thanks

The size you ask for, 12-20 gallon, converts to 11-18 cubic feet. That is pretty big. Even the smallest of freezers (3.5 cubic feet) are 2'x2'x3'. Home Depot has them for $260.

What are yo looking to run it on? LP? 12V? 110v?
  • Look at some of the 12-volt refrigerator/freezers on Amazon. Plenty of brands and sizes to choose from and very reasonably priced. I bought a 54-qt by Domende earlier in the summer. I have been using it as a refrigerator, but it can also be used as a freezer. I have used it in temperatures of up to 100 deg. and it stayed a steady 39 deg. without a problem. I have tested it down to 0 deg.

    Something like this perhaps Amazon

I have one it's 40 watts (At 12 volt battery or wall wart)
it has two compartments one gets down to negative F. the small one remains above freezing Only one temp control (Adjustable)
They make many other models, larger, smaller, dual zone (right and left) and it connects to my Android phone via blue tooth.

It is currently full of "Ballast" (Those refreezable "ice" bags they ship some of my meds with) and the cold side says -4F you can set it between -4 and +40

There are several competing products as well... My first one was an ENGEL. it had but one compartment 45 Liters. But back in 2005 It was WAY more expensive.
  • I too have looked at many of the"iceco" brand refrig/freezers at Amazon. Lots to chose from....
  • I bought the one that Haylett RV mentioned on their Youtube channel, and it is a Joytutus brand. We are very happy with it, and actually bought it to haul a lot of half a butchered cow we bought.

We have used it as a beer cooler since, but the beef was still rock hard frozen after a 7 hour drive home when we had it set at -4F. I now have it set at 27F and the beer tastes ice cold, but not frozen when we open it.

We are glad we bought it.

This looks like a good one. Just what I was looking for I think

    Thank you

As I said there are many that are so close to the one i got that the major difference is the name ... Some open on the long edge, some have a single compartment v/s the Warmer rear part on mine... Most all are 35-40 watts for the size you are looking at and I was real happy with my first one which is why I replaced it when it failed a lot of years later (16).
