I am in need of a new water heater tank. I took mine out and it was beyond repair. The model I have is an Atwood GC6AA-10E. Here's a picture of one.

Have you taken it to a competant welding shop? If not you may be suprised at what they can do. I have had mine patched though it was minor, cost about $20 for the patch, 15 for new rings, and my labor to remove and install all the parts.
