Oy, Mex, is there an alternative to you driving? It doesn't sound like the safest* thing in the world. Maybe there's an RV.netter or couple who could convoy with you?
(*This whole incident reminds me of the cartalk episode where the caller describes how his Yugoslavian neighbor said, 'We don't need no stinkin jumper cables,' popped out the good battery, flipped it over, and touched its terminals to the dead one.
Caller asked, 'Is this safe? And, if so, why do I have jumper cables?'
Tom or Ray said -- this was just after the war -- 'Well, compared to living in Yugoslavia it's safe.'
I get it that going is safer than not going. But still, perhaps some improvement could be made in the plan? I would totally donate to the defibrillator fund, or the plane ticket one... )
