A snap for do-it-yourself hobbiests
  • Your suggestion just beats the snot out of mine. Thanks for piping up. I have erased the eBay purchase of my suggestion and now can purchase up to 20 watts worth of tubular 12-volt rope lighting.

    I always adopt a superior suggestion ;)

    Thank You
  • I've used several of these Link when I added lights to outside compartments. They work fantastic. So cool to have the lights come on automatically when you open or even just come back to an already open compartment.

Then you can use any light you wan't.
  • It is a nice layout with the PIR and timer. Wondering why they went AAA, looks big enough for AA.
  • Being an OEM for CREE I sympathize about their trademark being hijacked. So I smirk when I see their moniker showing up in unlikely places.

The reason why I posted this ditty is because a very small bucker can be used to power an eyebrow raising number of lights in parallel. Walk down an aisle and find progressively lit shin-high night lights. Don't care what's on the ceiling at 0300 just want to make it to the bathroom and back. With the amount of lights being offered, it takes one 12-volt tap and a tiny pair of wires down in the corner run along the bulkhead to get the job done. Since their "on" time is very limited I would expect decent lifespan. The quiescent demand of the bucker I imagine would run 2-3 ma.
  • Genuine Cree? Will they provide a bin number?

I don't get why Cree doesn't defend their trademark. They're like Hoover or Dr. Bayer and his flub not protecting the brand name Aspirin.
