My Compliments To Lifeline Support

http://www.lifelinebatteries.com/manual.pdf

They recommended I download and peruse this document. So I did. My conclusion is this company knows exactly what it is doing. The know the AGM accumulator intimately and recommend advice and service that is succinct and comprehensive.

The general information in the PDF document can be applied to any lead acid battery. Included are recommended schemes for "balanced" series parallel connection that will have Pianotuna reaching for a hankie (gratitude).

So few USA companies now with this level of confidence of expertise. So few USA companies now that do not use buzzwords as crutches. Baffle the masses with buzzword B.S.

It is interesting particularly, Lifeline's opinion regarding "ripple" otherwise known as "pulse charging". This organization has their act together...
  • MEX, what do you think of their plate thickness spec? Is that thicker than average for AGM's?
  • Thanks for the link, MEX. A few things pop out at me vs my UPG batts:

--Charging voltage is somewhat lower. Lifeline says 14.4 at 77f vs a range of 14.5-14.9 for the UPG. Is there a correlation?

--Lifeline says go ahead and shove 500a at their 100ah batt. Does this mean I can use my 45a IOTA DLS45 with my 100ah UPG's (if I have the shore power)?

--Their second stage (where voltage is equalized and amps naturally taper) takes it down nearly to zero. This means with a 13a Meanwell all I have to do is watch the AC comsumption drop, then I can take over with teh 4a multistage charger.
  • I thought LifeLine AGM batteries were prohibitively expensive - like $500 for 100 amp-hours at 12v. (This comes from searching Amazon for them). Has anyone found a more reasonable source for these batteries?
  • I paid 325 ea for my four GPL-4Ct and don't regret it one little bit. That would be 650 for 220 amps at 12V. I have seen them for about 300 each lately.
