Hi all...Not so new now, but the first time I used my new Atwood 15,000 BTU air, I had condensation leaks dripping from the intake inside the motorhome. I know I need to get on the roof and check the unit itself but I thought it was odd being that it had not had time to get plugged up. Anyways, just wondering if anyone else had the same issue on their Atwood? I suppose I'll drill a few more drain holes.

Drip pan drain holes BLOCKED cause roof gasket has been too compressed by over tightening hold down bolts

FINGER TIGHT then just a little SNUG UP is all that is needed on the hold down bolts

Drip pan drain holes clogged

Dirty/clogged air return filter....doesn't take much to obstruct those thin foam filters
Is it time for your medication or mine?

Some great idea's I had not thought about. I do tend to over-tighten the bolts, that will be a place to start. Thanks for all the suggestions.

First, before you start climbing, Check the inlet filters.. Then check the bubble on your level....

Two things I have found.

ONE: the original A/C's on this RV were Carrier. Air V's. on the Carrier the "Drip lip" for condensed water is on the REAR bgehind the condenser, if the RV was low in the front water could overflow into the RV.. NOTE; The 1st Replacement the drip lip (Advent Air) is on the driver's side the 2nd Replaqcement (Coleman which by the way I recommend) I forgot to look.

Raising the nose just a bit fixed the Carrier.. page 2.

If the inlet filters clog then the blower will generate a vacuum that is powerful enough to suck water out of the drip tray and into the intake area. Where eventually it succumbs to Gravity and drips down

And if you run the thing on constant fan as I do when you shut the fan off NIAGRA FALLS. The fix is easy. clean filter.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

Over tightening the mount bolts will disort the pan and cause the water to leak inside. Loosen all the bolts and re-tighten them to 14 inch pounds and quit.

I had that on a brand new Dometic once. It wasnโ€™t sealed well enough to the output side and the cold air hitting the incoming air was causing condensation. Fixed it with some foil tape. Might not be your problem.
