Norcold hinge

Did you check Amazon? I don't know if any of those fit tho.

Norcold offers a strengthening part to reinforce that weak point. I believe it is the first item on the Amazon link.

Why a company would sell a fix for a known defect instead of fixing it in the first place is a mystery.

FWIW, the new Norcolds have a much stronger metal part.

Ours broke like that years ago. Did a similar fix. It was after that when the factory came out with a stronger bottom hinge mounting. Check the archives, there was a lot of discussion at the time.

Ours broke last year also, luckily our warranty covered a new door, and got the reinforcements for the hinges on amazon

I installed the hinge re-enforcement in my old refrigerator. The new one I installed last summer has a different hinge design.

The reinforcement kit I ordered several years ago had two mirror image reinforcement parts. I installed one on a left handed door.

I put the other on my new 2018 trailer, which had a right opening door, last fall. I didn't notice any difference in the hinge design, but I wasn't looking very closely. The fit of the reinforcement seemed to be exactly the same.

I did the preemptive step and did the hinge replacement before a catastrophic failure. Used this.. The frig opens and closes better with the new hinge.

I tried transferring the reinforcement kit from my old to new refrigerator. It didn’t fit at all. The hinge design is entirely different.
