onan 4k generator stopped

learn alot here every day, so here is my problem.
1995 class-c, 4000 onan gen, 556 hours, serviced regularly, oil is clean and full.
running my ac by the gen, after five minutes it stopped.
the gen will start by either the inside or outside start buttons, runs as long as buttons are pushed, stops when released, my electric meter stays in the red showing no electric power,
suggested it might be a stator.
any ideas greatly appreaciated

With a Onan dealer. Will know then.
They told me it is a symptom of no
Power.

Is this a 4 ky what spec.

Sounds like your fuel filter is plugged. Or, maybe your fuel tank is at 1/4 and it's trying to slurp what fuel it can.
