Onan QG 5500 gen set

Question

My gen set goes from 0 to 5000. Is there damage to the engine if my MH crosses altitudes above 5000 (and higher) other than the loss of amperage reduction even if set at 5000'? Onan advises getting the 0-10000 the Onan gen set 541-0465 because of my high altitude home location.

Probably no engine damage, but you will get fouled plugs and poor running over time. I would get the smaller jet and try it.
