No Optima is made in the USA. They are all made in Mexico. Every last one.

But no foolin', if you subject your RV to more than 4G's when you land, the Optima wins hand's down. Spiral cells are more durable. Maybe the "It is slightly less suspectable to break should you drop it before you get it into the trunk" would be a selling point - I don't know. Down here washboard dirt roads are a terror on batteries. But then that applies only when parts start falling off. Optima is truly wonderful for Baja 1000 racers - the race where drivers and co-pilots actually urinate blood after a race. Optima capitalizes on their Battery as being "Baja Proven".
