Open Ground

When I check the pedestal my indicator shows an open ground. This is on the 50amp side. What does that mean and should I be concerned? What risk am I taking?
Thanks,
John

You really owe it to yourself to read Mike Sokol's No~Shock~Zone. :B
  • Don't plug in. Go directly to CG manager and have them fix it or move you to another site that the shore station is working properly.

I keep one of these on boar at all times.
It helps to be able to "show" the CG manager and/or clerk that the shore station needs repair.

The Ground is a safety device, if it is open then you are at danger.. There are ways you can deal with it (I do on occasion) but as others have said, Report to park management, get THEM to fix it (NOTE check the outlet itself if you can)
