Pop Up Electriacal Question

I have a pop up which runs of the standard 15/ 20 amp outlets. I can plug it directly into my home and have no issues. I am going to be going camping in the near future and the site we chose says they have mostly 30 amp connections. I am going to running a small fridge and a coffee maker, some small lights. The pop up does have a converter as well. First question I have is can I plug into a 30 amp with my pop up? I know I need an adapter to change the configuration. Second, while being plugged in to the 30 amp can I still use my fridge, coffee maker, etc. ? I don't want to blow anything. Please let me know. Thanks!

Carry and adapter and some extension cords to get the most flexibility from the power pedestal as most are like the one shown.

I do know of exceptions and there is a fix but MOST campgrounds all sites have standard 15 or 15/20 amp outlets. A 30 amp site also has a 30 amp outlet (TT-30) and a 50 amp has both 30 and 50 amp outlets as pictured above.

On the off chance you find a campground which like one I stay at only has 30 amp outlets, No 15/20.. You can get an adapter. I recommend a "Dogbone" type where you have a 15 amp plug, Usually right angle, on one end of a cord and a TT-30 outlet on the other. Wal*mart, Camping world, Most RV stores and in many cases the camp store will have them

Failing that there is a PUCK type adapter.. 30 amp outlet on one side, 15 amp plug on the other. I have both kinds.

The other postings are largely correct, but in our travels, we have run into more than a few "30 amp only" posts. So, Were I You, I would carry the adapter for 30 to 15/20. And, at least 1 ea 12Awg Extension cord. 25 foot should do, but if you want to run a coffee pot and anything else, that is what you want.

This is what a VERY common RV Park Pedestal looks like. You may not even need an adapter.

take an extension cord so you can use a 1500 electric heater via the campground's additional outlets!

As stated yes. You may also find that even though it advertises 30 amp it most likely also as a 15-20 amp socket too.
