Preparing to leave, fridge won't light propane itself. SOLVED! (Thanks!)

I pulled the cover off the burner and touched it for a moment with torch and burner lit off and stays lit.

But NO ignition or spark from the ignitor.

We have RM2652. The ignitor comes out of a box with two big white chunks o' plastic. I don't know if they are relays or transformers or what, just a couple of plugins- one for the valve (obviously working) and the other for the ignitor (not working)

We recently replaced the cooling unit, tested both gas and electric modes afterwards but haven't run it in about 2 months.

It's plugged into shore power and new converter, via ATS, is providing 13.x volts to the wiring terminals on the back of the fridge.

I don't know how to test the ignitor or components???

Help!

Sure did! We usually have it on for a few days on electric, then switch to propane an hour or so before we leave. Things were very...hectic...before we left this time and we didn't get it checked out.

When you're making your final flight check and something like this happens, it sure is GREAT when someone responds so quickly :C

Thank you again, it worked fine for the whole week plus.

I'll clean the electrode and burner area as we reset these next few days.

I used to replace them all the time, then I found just cleaning does fine.

Thanks, Chris. That may be it. I pulled the connector and used a screwdriver like testing spark plugs. It zapped, I zapped, it lit, LOL.

Although it's possible the plug connection was not making good contact, I think it's more likely corrosion is on the ignitor or the burner.

So for now the fridge is working and reignited each of several tests.

THANKS!! ๐Ÿ™‚
