I have a 3 burner Suburban cooktop. Is there a way to adjust the flame lower? The way it is now, there is no way to simmer anything.

30 years ago you would disassemble the burner valve, file a small "v" groove off the exit hole in the center cone, reapply valve grease and be good. Can't do that now 🙂

I have a new suburban oven/cooktop, same problem. If anyone has a fix I would like to here it. Our last unit was an attwood and the oven and stovetop were great the suburban is a POS. It does not simmer and the oven burns the bottom of everything , my wife hates it.

One burner is a HIGHER Btu burner then other 2 burners
SO one will not go as low as the others



What model of Suburban Stove Top do you have?

Try pulling the knob off and look inside the shaft. Some models have an adjustment screw inside the shaft. Use a flat blade screwdriver to adjust the flame while it is at the minimum setting.

The flame adjusts on all 3 burners, but just does not go as low as on my previous stove.

I just use a diffuser.

Are you stating that no matter how you turn the burner knobs the flame stays the SAME on all 3 burners? They have a LOW to HIGH adjustment on the knob. DO NOT SEAL AND DRILL A NEW ORIFICE. Doug

Remove the orifice, solder it shut then redrill it smaller? Maybe you can buy a smaller orifice

I try to get the flame as low as it can go and then I use a simmering plate on top of the burner. It seems to work.
