Hi. I recently bought a used truck camper. It had a fridge and a stove. The fridge did not work, but as far as I can tell, the stove does. I removed the fridge, but now I have an open propane line. I know I can just run a single line now and that's the ultimate goal. But in the mean time, can I use a ball valve water line shut off to cap the old line to the old fridge?By cutting the nut part off and putting the ball valve fitting on the end. Which would in theory work. My thought is, if the ball valve can stop water, would it stop propane?

LPG **** valves are affordable and proven. They usually have a twist dial-like wheel on the side. Is a trip to the hardware store a burden?

I would use a proper gas fitting that caps the existing threaded end fitting.Or if needed attach the proper compression fitting to attach the cap.I would not attach a valve. Especially one made for water.

You can buy a male copper plug that goes into the nut on the end of the line at H Depot.

Yup, looks like this. It’s in the plumbing section with all the other brass fittings. :):)

after soapy water rinse the copper with clean water. Soapy water degrades copper lines.

I thought it was funny. he said "simply". What is simpler than getting a 3/8 brass plug and using 2 wrench's to install??????? Besides, you just Cut the end off and smash the round end and then solder if you want to go that route. But I would also never do that. Doug

It is a 3/8 inch BRASS flare cap/plug. Just like the pic posted earlier. Doug

So I went to home depot and they were useless. Does anyone have a part number or size and thread description I could use? Normally I would take the part in, but it's attached to the camper. Lol. Thanks for the help so far as well!
