protective coating for new awning

Question

I just installed a new vinyl  awning on our rv. We are in central Florida in a park that has some type of oak trees that drop little acorns all the time. They almost have a needle like tip on them that can puncture old awnings, any idea if I could spray anything on this awning to help deflect these nuts from doing damage to my awning?

Unless you build a solid porch roof over your awning, I don't think there is anything to prevent a bullet from penetrating a tissue paper.
