Ever just get set down, and then decide ya want a lite on.
Or didja ever just get tired of always havin to look,.....then reach up to turn on a light ?

I drilled a couple of our favorite fixtures and installed a pull chain. We love them,.....wonder why not 20 yrs ago !

If you do, use a Leviton sw, much smoother at 45 degree than some others.

Old is baaaaaaaaaad............

Only central processor controlled plasma screen intergrated micropcessor purchases are allowed these days. You should have a system where you look at the lamp, a sensor detects and interprets the changes in your iris and the light malfunctions automatically.

We had a pull chain light in our class A but the chain continued to bang against the stand as we drove. Made me nuts. We now avoid that type. It clearly makes good sense in many applications and sounds like it worked out well for you, it was just not good for us.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?
