Refrigerator light's not on

The easiest thing to do is also the most obvious. Check the bulb.

We will need to know the make, model and serial number of your coach, and refrigerator before making a guess at what the problem is.

Inside bulb or panel lights?

We have a 2012 Sprinter by Keystone.277RLS. The bulb was out in the refrigerator. I checked the fuse and the fuss was not blown. I was going to have the bulb tested at a hardware store. We ended up calling an RV Technician in our area. He called us back. He told us to go outside of the camper and pull the black cover off behind the refrigerator. He said there should be two fuses in that box. He said the fuses could be blown or loose. We checked the fuses and the one fuse was loose. We tighten up the fuse and now the refrigerator works.

Another possibility, if you have a newer camper - the battery connector switch could be disengaged. On our way home from our last campout, I noticed that the fridge, though cold, had no light in it, and it usually does even in transit. We couldn't work the lights in the trailer, either. After we got home, DH did some exploring and he discovered that battery connector switch was in the "off" position.

Hope it's something simple, like this, or the bulb has burned out.

Sounds like you have the solution but another possibility. On ours the switch sticks occasionally. Flick it a couple times and it comes back on.

On mine the bulb had corroded from the moisture in the fridge. I removed bulb, sanded the contacts and reinstalled and it works fine now.

Most likely YES, in that order, and as someone else pointed out it could be switch failure or dirty contacts.

Procedure.. If you have a test light it is much easier but a volt meter can be used.

Find a good KNOWN ground, if you have to run a wire all the way to the battery NEGATIVE cable and hook the clip of a test lamp to it.

probe both lamp contacts, if one shows 12v (Bright light) and the other is dark, bad bulb, NEITHER shows light, probe both sides of the switch,, IF still no light blown fuse

If light on one side of switch but not the other,, Bad switch.

IF bulb tests bad, Clean contacts and re-test

If switch tests bad, clean contacts and re-test

If cleaning does not fix.. Replace.

If fuse tests bad. replace.

Mine was corroded removed soaked in vinegar rinsed works ok.
