refrigerator not working...help

Getting ready to go camping Friday in our 2005 Dutchman travel trailer for the first time this year. Turned our fridge in our camper on 6 weeks ago on low and it was working. We turned it up yesterday and put food in it. Now the green light is flashing and it's not cooling. Is there a fix to this?
  • On my 5th wheel I had this problem once. It was a bad propane regulator at the tanks. The refer wasn't getting enough gas to it.

  • Oh, and tina, it is DutchmEn, not DutchmAn. Good luck with your fridge. I'm sure when you post a lot more information about the fridge and the problem, help will be at hand. These folks are pretty adept at troubleshooting problems of all sorts.
  • frig needs 12 thats the first place to look. whats a blinking green light code stand for??
  • I would agree. I had trouble with our fridge last year. It was a poor connection to the ground on the battery.
  • Are your batteries low, if so the fridge won't work until the batteries charge.

Will it run on electric? Will it run on propane? It makes a difference in tracking the problem down.

If it will not run on propane, did you disconnect your propane tanks to fill them? If so, did you purge the air from the lines? I will light the burners on the stove to get most of the air out and propane up to that area. This can take about a minute sometimes. Afterwords you need to re-start the fridge. Just a thought.

Can you please give us the make\model of the fridge in question? I don't think you will get much help unless you tell us what fridge your having issues with.
