Replacing Xantrex Prosine 2,0 Recommendations

The third Prosine 2.0 inverterd/charger has died.

Very little room near batteries. SEE PIC

since then in electric bay below the charger is the SC 2030 solar controler and shunt for the Trimetric 2030 monitor.

Need +/- 100A charging and easy to set charge parameters. (4 X 6V GS, 480 AH total)

2KW PSW

Could go separate charger and transfer switch but where to put them?

Recommendations?

I don't know about the INVERTER
But I sent him two dead converters
One was toast, the other he repaired,
IIRC he said they go to other people that need them, for the cost of any additional parts

I'm quite sure he reuses any parts as possible from other converters
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

I do not think Xantrex authorized repair will touch it.
For the parts.. ๐Ÿ™‚

There are a handful of people that attempt to work on these and guess where they get their parts? Blown units. I spent several hours calling all over the country but most these guys told me they essentially shotgun the units. I'll keep the Magnum..

Perhaps the question should be who has had theirs fixed vs. junking

I thought I read a post where there is a guy in quartzsite that repairs xantrex.
Was probably related to prosine 2.0
My poor search skills did not find it.

Interested thread as I bypassed my Prosine 2 days ago, Will be pulling it out and opening the case next week (I am trained as an electronics tech) to see if perhaps it is something simple)

ANyone know the address(es) of the person (People) who service these things?

I know there are a few out there. Been posted in the past but I did not take notes.. I really like the way it used to work.

OP- my friend sent me a picture of his install. It's too close to see the shelf where your Prosine is so I don't know if it exists, but the Magnum is bolted to the right wall, it appears above the lowest point of your ATS, so you wouldn't lose the floor space

This is the 3rd failure.

I might repair something once. Second failure I go with something new.

Most failure are not that catastrophic. A handful of transistors. Good time to replace all the caps. Upgrade them to higher voltage and temp rating.
Prosine are famous for being throw-away, and that's the problem. Magnum, unlike Xantrex are built to be serviced and parts are readily available. Guess why I now have a Magnum?

I have the Xantrax 2000w Invertor and it works great. It looks like heat might of killed it. You need to vent that compartment.
