1. You don't want him doing the repair. If he evacuated the refrigerant as he should there would be no acidic problem at all.
2. I have been telling people on this board that a lot of companies will refuse to work on a refer in an RV not a normal installation.
3. This compressor is not exclusive to KA so I don't no where your reading that KA are having a high number of compressor failures most likely not true. Having been authorized service for a lot of manufactures compressor failures are very low. Ice makers seem to be the hot list
It know appears you will be on the hook for repairs. I suggest you get the number for whirlpool/KA general service manager for your area and go from there. They have all changed since I was working so google it.
