Running Generator ..How Long ?

Nothing wrong with running it on the road, and I'm almost certain the fuel economy hit will not be noticed either.

The concept is that many of us have never stayed in a campground that had any hookups of any kind, therefore plugging in is not an option.

UNCLEAR ON THE CONCEPT DEPT.

When the gentleman parks for the night, HE PLUGS IN, shuts the generator off waits for it to cool, then does a routine. just sayin'

Just curious......why do you need to check coolant/oil levels every 6 hrs?

Do you have leaks?
Does it consume oil?

Yep as everyone says as long as the fluids are great then run it. Especially if its a DP I run my pickup for days at a time and a generator is just an engine. So as along as it has proper fluids its great. Good luck

No issues, nothing makes our Onan happier than to run, run, run. Main reason it has performed flawlessly over seven years and nearly 800 hours. We boondock often in extreme weather where the majority of the hours were accumulated.

If you are plugged into shore power. No need to run the gen. You will only need it going down the road.

Run it as long as you want if the fluid are OK and it is running smooth.

Yep, generators are one of the few things nowdays that still have a 100% duty cycle.

If it gets too unbearable I'd just park the motorhome at a safe place and rent a local small car to take you wife and dog home and then come back and return the rental car and drive the MH home...

Churches, RV Dealers, maybe even Camping World would let you park for a few days at no cost...

No chance your MH just thru a belt for the A/C unit...
