Rv light bulbs

Hi all!we have 26 foot 5th and i hooked up checked all the lights however no turn signals.I have 7 pin test light and truck is working, also new 7 pin plug on the trailer.I took out the tail lights and noticed they were 1154 bulbs dual filament but none the less that's ehst tbey were.I read on line 1157 is the bulb thats maninly used ,could this be the issue? We just purchased this used so im not sure all of whats be done. Thanks in advance
  • Trailer towed by 9 mph topped-out older VW bus? Laugh on. I've seen it down here. The bus and utility trailer usually slips in right behind a pickup truck with a rear spring with a broken center bolt. The 30 degree cant clears a 1-1/2 lane swath going down the road at a breakneck 15 mph.

Smart OP. Had a problem, defined the question exactly and got a quick fix.

    Happy Trails
  • You've already fixed your problem, but it would be interesting what the previous owner was pulling it with ?
  • All fixed new 1157 bulbs installed, wonder why the heck the guy did that, thanks everyone

Where the devil did you come up with an 1154 bulb??
That is a tail/brake bulb for an old 6V (<1967) VW bug.

Find a VW collector and make him a present.

If the bulbs are double contact bayonet base, with one of the pins on the side set higher than the other, YES, 1157

These are upgraded 1157's on Amazon, and at a little under $4 for the pair, Amazon Prime Add-On Item, they look good to me.
I entered Amazon and keyed only "1157" to see these and many others.

You know it's blowing bulbs, so there IS Power coming to them. I just want to add - For many years now, Tow Vehicles have had separate fused Stop/Tail/Turn circuits for the Towing Vehicle and the Trailer Connector. So it's possible for the Towing Fuse(s) to be blown and the corresponding lights on the Truck still work.

Philips Automotive Brand Automotive lamp. 16.5/5.25 Watts and 6.3/7.0 volts. S-8 size and shape, double contact bayonet base.

See anything weird in the specs above?

Try your darndest to find non-chinese made 1157 bulbs. They are worth it. Worth a trip to a NAPA store. Avoid gypo auto discount parts stores.
