Solar panel part 2

Thanks for all the reply’s from first post. Suggested timer coming tomorrow. Fan came today partial sunny, panel showed 23v, hooked fan straight to panel and spun really fast, showing 9.7v. So, it would run, yes. Hurting motor, I don’t know. Think I now have more than what I initially though would be something simple. New renogy mppt 20a controller, group 24 deep cycle battery, timer, a pack of solar connectors and wire. Y’all bought any wire lately? 94 cents a frigging foot for 10 gauge stranded at Lowe’s.
  • With one 100 watt solar panel 10 gauge wire is adequate for up to 17.5 feet but position the controller as close as possible to the battery. Here’s the wire chart I use…

  • I'm curious to see how long you radiator fan lasts in that application.

Typically, they use brushes, and aren't designed for hours of constant operation every day.
