KenFecher - Do you have the name and model number of the speakers involved? Based on that information, we may be able to suggest some speakers to help balance you out. Personally I'm a huge fan of JBL marine speakers and Polk Audio marine rated. Both are very efficient with sensitivity levels of 91 db and 92 db respectively.

Ken: Every time someone mentions outside light, radio, starting Diesels, Dogs, Kids, and a whole list of others, even though not even remotely related to the thread, someone HAS to come along and state their distaste for something or another even though they have no clue whatsoever where and/ or how you camp. This is particularity irritating when it happens in a pure tech forum. So just ignore them even though they won't go away. Good luck on the L-Pads

Do a search on eBay or Amazon for a "stereo L-PAD". Put the L-PAD in the line feeding the loudest speakers and adjust it so that it matches the level of the outside speakers.
THESE are the cheapest I found on eBay. There are two (not ganged) for sale, but I assume you would set them and toss in the rear of the cabinet anyway..
Sorry for the goofy link, but it at least works.

Maybe we should start on patio lights so all THAT whining gets wrung out too. I thought this was the Tech Section, not Romper Room

Got nothin at all to do with connections. This is a difference in efficiency of each speaker set expressed in SPL (Sound Pressure Level) for a given input . I'll bet they aren't identical are they ?
X2
The cure may be to replace the outside speakers with ones that are more efficient. In the mobile audio world, speakers that are rated 1W @ 90+ db will be about as efficient as you can buy.
