Spring Equalizers

Question

On arrival at a campground I found both the leaf springs on the rear axle of signature TT had broken. Into town for four new springs. Spent next morning replacing broken ones and the enjoyed the rest of the week.
Now back at home. Next step replace front axle springs plus all shackles, bolts, equalizers, etc.

Before I run off and buy stuff I need to know:

why or why not switch to greasable bolts; and

facts on 'rubberized' vs. 'solid' equalizers.

My shackles and bushings were shot after 12K kms.

The only heavy duty replacement kit I could get had double thick shackles and extra long grease bolts that would fit, and bronze bushings.

Didn't replace the equalizer.

So far, the HD shackles have held up 2x as long as the originals.

You shouldn't need to ever replace the equalizers unless the bushings have worn so badly that the bolts have worn into them.
The HD shackles are a good upgrade. Not only do they seem to not wear at all but because they resist side to side flexing I suspect they also keep the axles from moving laterally as much.

Dexter has a kit with rubberized equalizers, heavy duty shackles and wet bolts.Well worth the $$ IMHO.
