sterling tow bar.

we noticed that there was a shinier part of the arms just where they come out of the grey thing.
when we pull them out - by hand - till the locking lever comes down, there is another inch that the arm comes out.
is this a problem? it is 8 years old and has 17k miles on it.
thanks all.
ps are all towbars universal or will we need new bits on the towed car as well if we replace the towbar?
  • I don't remember seeing the shinny part on my Sterling AT, so can't answer that question until I go visit the MH in storage.

As for different brands being universal....nope, they are not. However, you can buy adapters that will allow you to use one tow bar brand on another brands base plates.
