Suburban Oven Pilot Lite issue
Hello everyone,
I have a 2014 Apex trailer with a suburban oven model SRNA3SBBE. You can light the pilot the normal way, turn to pilot, push knob in, light the flame, hold for 15 secs, release and turn to desire temp setting.
After approx 10 mins the pilot light starts to pop and spit, once the pilot goes out, the burner turns off(like it should).
I did a search on the Internet and found many posts regarding this issue on a few different models. I read a lot of posts about the thermocouple not being straight above the pilot flame so I checked mine and it was off a bit. I bent it a bit to align better, still the same problem. Read a few posts regarding an incorrectly sized orifice but no real way to check it.
I thought maybe it was just the thermocouple, so when the pilot lite started to sputter/pop, I turned the knob back to pilot and pushed the knob in, thinking this should bypass the thermocouple and manually keep the gas flowing to the pilot flame. Did not work, pilot kept on sputtering till it went out.
All stove burners work great as do all other propane appliances. I checked the lines from the control to the pilot, look ok no kinks or anything visible.
So, is it possibly still the thermocouple or control?
I am also thinking about emailing suburban but since I am out of warranty, thought I would go this route first.
