But implementation date not firm...but it will be soon.

Please. No political comments which do not do a damned bit of good.

25% price increase on a thousand dollars of panels is not chickenfeed.

Other electronics are also affected.

Time to do your Christmas Stocking Stuffer shopping early.

Amplifications not solicited or desired...

Good buys and bargains are solicited....

Any snide remarks please kill the thread...

Nothing at all .... if you like to camp when and where no one else does. i.e. In the pristine solitude of the Southwest Deserts or Texas Panhandle in the summer exploring or rockhounding like we have done.

Seeking out high altitudes, or seeking out high latitudes, or moving back in time to Pre-Global-Warming is not always available or desirable to some of us when out and about Recreation Vehicle'ing. However, for folks that are Living Vehicle'ing instead I agree ... generator cooling can get expensive.

BTW and FWIW, our Onan generator only (sips) about 0.4 gallons per hour when powering our Coleman in the Texas Panhandle during August ... and so far during these times ... 0.4 gallons an hour is less than five dollars an hour. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hence .... all the long RV forum discussions on how important RV generators are so as to be able keep our RV's cool when drycamping anywhere, during any season, and in any expected or unexpected weather that the New Mother Nature can dish out.

Be prepared for the worst while hoping to camp in the best. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I suspected that too, lol.

And they've not been introduced to FactCheck or Snopes.

Heck NO! I watched that crime syndicate since the Mena Arkansas drug running days. Anybody seen Seth Rich lately or Vince Foster......

A universal tax exemption should be national not local or state.

Even if it means another constitutional amendment. Covers solar, hydro, geothermal.

Think ANY politician raises the hood of their car? Most do not even see an electrical bill -- that's what aides are for.

During the period of the California Rolling Blackouts some reporter did an unbiased survey of state representatives. Both parties. An overwhelming majority fled. Not to Sacramento either.

So, it's not an issue of riding the elephant or pinning the tail on the Donkey. The whole freakin' zoo is to blame. A politician's interests consists of 50% revenue generation and 50% PAC funding. Absolutely nothing about helping people get affordable USA panels into their hands.

We are being quite civil about solar panels and why they are making it difficult to purchase them. I was pointed to USA made panels that are in fact twice the cost of the market norm. I pointed this out and the person that pointed out the panels was gracious enough not to take offense. This is a classy discussion without rancor. Love it.
All governments should bite the taxing bullet on solar panels and forego all taxes on the manufacture, distribution, sales and purchase of solar panel and related equipment.
Panels are a fundamentally direct way to ease greenhouse emissions in the area in which they are used. Dispersed generation eases the burden of line transmission load which lowers the costs incurred by utilities.
Our enemies are USA political type. Not just at the helm but individuals who resist the idea of making the solar panel industry and consumerism 100% tax free because of loss of tax revenue. This means our enemies are on both sides of the political aisle. Please don't focus on one side or the other, both sides are enemies of human caused CO2 reduction.

Can't avoid making this a political as the issue of CO2 reduction and greenhouse gases have already been politicized.

In fact, to the point that a political party in power in some states would put taxes when homeowners switch from grid-based electricity into solar.

Red has been for Liberals , Commies, and such since forever. (Paris communes?) Blue is for Conservatives from at least as long. So all of a sudden, CNN or somebody ignorant decided "Red" was for Republican???? Really beyond stupid. So fix that first, and then we can talk about free trade.

Amazing this thread is still here! ๐Ÿ™‚ The above ought to make it go away.

BF ... an absolutely outstanding observation ... hah, hah!!

I've thought exactly the same thing since day one when CNN started using Red and Blue colors ... reversed.

You must have mistaken it to the New York charitable organization where it's president bought a mural of the painting of himself for his private owned hotel, sports memorabilia and where his children are all being sued for using charitable donations by other people into campaign kitty?

No politics here, just citing all legal cases brought to to-date and I'm not even citing political personalities. Just facts.

For those interested in solar power, and before they lock this thread:
UCLA engineering has developed a new solar cell with a record setting 22-percent incoming energy conversion.
Yang added that the technique of spraying on a layer of perovskite could be easily and inexpensively incorporated into existing solar-cell manufacturing processes.

Hmmm ... they're slowly but surely getting there. Aren't a lot of plants above 90% efficiency in converting sunlight energy into whatever plants do?

Hopefully someday even small RV's with solar on their roofs can run their air conditioners directly from their solar panels if they're parked in the same sun that is requiring the RV to need air conditioning in the first place. ๐Ÿ˜‰
