Don't get me wrong. If the Champion's had been popular several years ago when I bought my twins, I would probably own a Champion and put about $1400 in my pocket (or would have spent it on something else).
My point is (and has always been) that until the Champion's are out a few more years and we are pretty sure they will still be in business, they are not really a proven product. My only reason for buying one would be to save a lot of money. If I'm going to save only a little money, I may as well buy Honda or Yamaha and know what to expect.
If they (Champion) are still in business in another 5 years or so, and the first generators they sold are still running with parts available, then I will say they are a good product. I am just afraid that, because of their price, they probably don't have very high standards for materials or workmanship (quality) as the proven generators. I hope I end up being wrong, but I doubt the Champions will have anywhere the longevity of Honda or Yamaha
