"Tony F" is/was a "newbie". You got caught-up in it.
He can't help being a newbie - but when he posted on the 3000w Gensets thread, he was "out of the loop" - he had not "back-tracked" on the thread far enough to learn the "history" of Champion, where *ALL* the component parts come from, etc.

Buy: "manufactured in the USA" -
with a majority of "things", you can try - but there's only 2 real possibilities - slim & none.

My ever wise man. I don't know for sure with JC, I believe it's the same as the balance of us folks, with age should come 'wis(e)dom.' Your in there. Now, my buying a Champion. I too was once a 'newbie' At the time I was running away from the high cost of repair to the OEM genset in a previously owned MH. My thought was, why not one of these Chinese less expensive gensets? I went on the hunt. You know, via the internet. Found RV.NET and 3000w Chinese gensets info' The big story was about the Champion. It had been mentioned way back then, Champion, a American Company ownes their own factory in China. At the time, I did not research Champion (CPE). Should have done more home work. Then it was mentioned, we could order online through 'partsamerica.com' so, wow, that was a real bell ringer. I truly wanted to get as close to 'Good ol' America' as possible.
Too bad now I find real doubt in my decision to buy the full American Champion MFG story. I truly want to be American the best I way I know how . But, like you say, trying to buy 'manufactured in America' for most 'things' remains ~ slim and vary few and far between. Oh, there is a great difference in 'manufacturing' in a factory and 'assembly' on a line somewhere.
Tony, are you still around?
Pritch272, thanks for your consideration and starting the thread.
