Floyd, you have become a regular correspondent on this and other threads over the past few years. During that time your knowledge and understanding of not only generators, but electricity and the principles of sound generation and abatement have grown. You and I have shared much both on and off the thread. So, I hope you will not take it as a disparaging comment when I say that it often appears to me that you suffer from an ailment we often got caught up in when I was working on a project in graduate school that required doing research - "Tunnel Vision". It is easy to filter out what you don't want and accept only what you do, rather than looking at the larger picture and weighing each piece of information equally. I believe this is exactly what JC is commenting on with his "Manufactured in the USA" analogy.
Perhaps if you want a real "Made in America" generator you should consider a Briggs and Stratton. A well established AMERICAN company that builds everything right here in the good old USA with American labor. Or, perhaps your old marque, Onan? Their Homesite models appear to be quality American generators - I am sure it is just coincidental that they look like the rest of the Chinese imports. Of course, DuroPower must be helping the American economy tremendously with their mail order clearing house in California? Or perhaps we should just limit our purchases to big box stores like Lowe's, Wal-Mart and Home Depot? Now, those are fine American institutions that believe in the phrase "Made in America".
It is best to not become victim to the old adage my Mom used to quote to me, "Be careful that you do not overlook the trees when looking at the forest."

Yes, we all came to '3000w Chinese gensetS info' except Prof', as newbies, he started the thread. I have read all the posts on that thread for three years now. When some of the 'newbies' come, they are like me, a child with a 'new red wagon' (yellow and black Champion). Then the new wears off. Reality sets in. Some come to learn, others come with a agenda. Like the 'Generator Guy' He wanted us to know the Champion was to be chosen over the DuroPower and that the Champion was good for 3300 watts? Said he proved that fact. Then he skipped out. Many others have come like Tony F, hope he stays around long enough to learn a thing or two. He said he was into research. Maybe he too, now has tunnel vision? My thought, some folks like to put on the blinders, I do believe. They want to see only RED, BLUE, or even just YELLOW & BLACK. Blinders and tunnel vision, uh!
Now, all grown up we hopefully learn, all things are sometimes not as they seem. Age helps. We sometimes say, hmmmmm. Well all be darn. I didn't know that. I should have looked deeper. Checked out the story. Sometimes it takes a Tony F, along the way. Tony, stay around.
Now Champion. For me to stay interested, they could put up a real 'Home Page' Say like, Kipor.com. Add plenty of up to date claen power units. Light wieght, soft sound and priced just under the market. Is that maybe asking to much? Prof' told us long ago, Champion wanted to hear from us. Now waiting for the rest of the 'story'.
