there's a new competitor with Champion, Lifan. there's a thread, in the General RV forum, about their new lineup of electric-start, parallel-capable inverter generators, being sold thru Home Depot.
they look like the Magna brand i've seen on Ebay.
even the 2200w one has electric start and a pull-out handle and wheels.
Thanks... Just ordered from Home Depot the Lifan 2200 watt electric start. If possible plan on mounting it on under my Rig, behind the rear wheel between the body skirt and frame. If it doesn't fit I'll return it to my local Home Depot.
Lifan 2200 at Home Depot
Was looking at the various Lifan models, noted the engine sizes, if I recall, the new Champion inverter is 79cc. I wonder what effects one might consider for the various size engines. Compare against the Honda 2000i at 98cc, Honeywell 2000i at 125cc, All Power APG3102 at 105cc, and the Lifan 2200 at 125cc (if I recall). Does a larger displacement imply a better consistent output under load increase? Does it matter other than weight, fuel consumption rates, etc? How about longevity? Noise is probably higher with a larger engine. I had the Honeywell for a while, and it was larger (and heavier) than the Honda 2000i. The All Power APG3102 is about the same physical size as the Honda 2000i, I like the smaller size. Anyhow, bottom line: what are the advantages and disadvantages for each of the various engine sizes?
