Guys, this is starting to get to me. These are NOT "inverters". They are "inverter generators". Inverters are a different animal.

Every time you guys say, "inverter" I think of a box that takes DC from a battery and produces AC.

Well I'll de' clare. I hope this thread is not an advertising tool streight from Champion. In looking through some of the affinity group mags, don't find one Champion ad.:? There have been many questionable posts, even by the Owner/CEO of Champion (CPE) US, here. Now we have the post by Mr Grumpy? His first post. A 'real deal' review would be appreciated for sure and certain. Each of us have a profile that should contain some creditable info. Must be easy to get on RV.NET and post. Let's keep these threads with real deal folks. No plants please. This will give us a nice website to visit for great independent user reviews and we will all have a Happy New Year.

Dudley, looking at your profile you give us the name of 'Dudley Przemek' it's interesting you have only 4 posts to this thread and RV.NET all are about the Champion?

Happy New Year to all!

What part of Canada are you in? My last set of Costco coupons didn't have it? I hope I am going to get some new ones in the mail and the champ is in there. Great deal at $399

I just got Costco winter coupons, looks like the 2K champion inverter will $100 off or $399 from March 21-27. Looks like a smokin good reason to pick up a second unit.

Yea, you know what I mean.

Shucks - if Floyd had not grabbed the name way back, I would possibly be looking at Old and Slow for my own handle. My typing fingers (err - sorry, KEYBOARDING fingers) don't always synchronize with my brain. Which makes me think - how many younger folks even know what "typing" is?

From what my 15 YO has shown me very little ๐Ÿ˜‰

Professor95 when ever you get around to hooking a oscilloscope across the new Champions I would love to see the wave form of a single Champion both no load and near full load and especially the waveform of the 2 Champions paralled no load and full load. Thanks and keep up the good work. Debating about maybe 2 of the new Champions or waiting to see if Champion will come out with a larger inverter generator. I am in no hurry as I have the C46540 and love it and hardly ever use it.

I'll be glad to post the photos.

I don't "think" CPE will be releasing a 3,000+ inverter any time in the immediate future. I know it is in the long range plans but I am under the impression they want the 2000i to get a good stronghold first.

I'll tell you, the Powerhouse PH3100Ri is a nice looking unit. I have not heard much feedback and would like to know more.

On the Americanrvcompany.com website something interesting. They also list the new 'Dometic LW3000' Inverter. It seems the test for the 3000 class is if they will operate the Dometic Brisk Air 13,500 and 15,000 btu A/C's. In looking over the Dometic A/C website this is what they list.

13,500~ Compressor 12.1 amps Fan 2.5 amps Total 14.6a
15,000~ Compressor 12.9 amps Fan 2.5 amps Total 15.4a

They state their new Domitic LW3000 Inverter will operate the 13,500 A/C but list the Total output for the Inverter as 2.6 rated and Max of 2.8 ~ that seems short of the needed wattage for operation.
Also of interest is the stated Noise Level of 71/74 dB ,Hmmm. A new Inverter is on my wish list but good judgement says just wait of more owner reviews. Of interest also is the fact that the new Dometic looks exactly like the Magna. Somewhere I read it is for a fact the same. But Magna doesn't show that high of sound level? So it looks like we have over stating of output and understating of noise level from most mfg's. Marry Christmas and Happy new year.

Looking for those neat posts of old from MrWiz, they were awesome.

PS: My oldtimer Champion will out do any new Inverter I do believe. And I was one who said Champion was only producing model T's a year ago.:o

By the way Professor, I can run the AC with one generator (after it has started) if the batteries are pretty well charged and there are no other draws, but the poor little thing screams. I just don't have the heart to do it. It would probably go to overload in a short time anyway.

I'm anxious to try with the Champ, but as I complained about earlier, too cold for an A/C to start the compressor right now.

My 15K A/C is a scroll compressor. I believe it is 11 amps with the fan once it is running (I'll have to go back and look at the numbers again). If so, I am "hopeful" one 2000i CPE inverter will "maintain" the A/C once the compressor is locked in and current has stabilized. I am sure it will be screaming as well (if it works).

Merry Christmas to all!

Not only can you run only one (at least on the Honda), but the 20 amp outlets on the stopped generator still work. I first realized it would work when I ran one out of gas (before I built my auxiliary fuel tank) and everything worked fine on one generator (no AC on).

Not sure on the Champion, but with the Honda you can turn ECO on and off anytime. Even with the AC on, I never run on the ECO setting and my "twins" start the 15K AC.

By the way Professor, I can run the AC with one generator (after it has started) if the batteries are pretty well charged and there are no other draws, but the poor little thing screams. I just don't have the heart to do it. It would probably go to overload in a short time anyway.

Has anyone paralleled the Champion's yet? I'm wondering if the procedures are the same. Can you still run one (either) generator, when not running high electrical loads and start the second generator when you are ready to run an AC unit or bigger microwave?

Yes to all.

You can also start high current loads with both and once they are running turn one generator off - maintaining the load on one. I have not been able to try this with the rooftop AC yet, just other (small air compressor, etc.) WX will have to get above 70 to test it on the RV air conditioner.

I didn't realize it was ok to turn one off while they were paralleled together. I guess I should read up more on those things as I'm about to pick up a parallel cord to start getting ready for next spring.

Can you swap from Eco to no Eco while they are running in parallel?
