Guys, little be it for me to suggest how things work here, but I'd sure like to see this thread get back on the topic of the Champion 2000 inverter. It seems it's drifted off on several tangents (Converters, and competing models, amongst other things) and I keep coming back to read the responses after getting the email alert...only to find out that the content has little to nothing to do with the Champ.
I agree and disagree.
Converters and their affects on the little Champ inverter as well as how it stands up to competing models amongst other things. Many times, Honeywell and Kipor are mentioned. Issues with pull cords, covers, etc. It brings on a well rounded wealth of information. I started reading back a few years ago in the 3000 watt chinese gensets. That forum was all over the place. But it helped me make an educated decision when purchasing my current open synchronous Champion 46515 4000/3500. It has served me well.
I stumbled upon this forum after purchasing an off brand 3000 watt inverter (it failed) and I continuing my quest for something reliable and cost effective.
This forum has helped me in making my decision to purchase the Champion 2000i.
I agree, it needs to be pulled back once in a while. But, not at the cost of comparing models or its abilities in comparison.
Professor is right, it's not a Honda. But, it is also not a Honeywell, a Kipor, a Subaru, a Yamaha, a generac, etc... But, more importantly, it is not an off brand Chinese generator.
Great customer service, parts availability, and a cost effective competitor to the Red and Blue.
Thank you.
