Through-The-Roof sealant

I applied on my rubber roof and over the shower skylight. The skylight was cracking and put a 1/4 inch layer of the stuff. The rubber roof did great. Easy to apply. Anybody else used it?
  • One of the units went under a tree and a branch hit the skylight. The plastic got destroyed, half came loose. Yes, the dome bounced back in shape BEING SUSTAINED ONLY BY THE STRUCTURE OF THE SEALANT. I put some pre-peg UV fiberglass reinforcements and another coat of the sealant. I am sold on this stuff.
  • YES! I like Through The Roof sealant, but I don't use it in any quantity on my roof. Use it instead of a silicone type caulk on seams, etc. I apply it with a small artist-type paint brush.
  • Read the manufacturer's technical data sheet and it clearly warns that use on EPDM rubber membrane "may cause warping" - exactly the reason a product like Dicor self leveling lap sealant which is designed specifically for use on EPDM should instead be used. ;) Why try to reinvent the wheel when a proven product like Dicor is so readily available? :h
  • I've seen it advertised but, never tried it. I use Heng's Rubber Roof Coating, even on the skylight.

Keep us updated on how your stuff holds up. It has good reviews on Amazon.
