IMHO trailer brakes are the most unsafe part of our trailers.
I've had drum brake fade down long descents and greased brakes from a bad seal. Disc brakes should fix the fade and probably fix (or at least reduce) the greased brake problem.
I've also had broken brake wires but that's an issue with both technologies.
US$1550 for this upgrade doesn't seem that unreasonable to me, but it's still a lot of money (especially for us Canadians). This upgrade is definitely on my wish list.
