IMO always carry a simple portable charger along in case any brand converter quits on you while camping even if on shore power. You can get by on shore power for 120v and battery for 12v, recharging the batts as required with your charger till you can get the converter fixed or replaced.
Then you won't be in a rush in a strange town trying to get a new converter at some outrageous local price. You can do it in slow time after you get home.
