Water pressure regulator

The Valterra you have listed, Camco, Renator or Watts will all give you higher flow at 45 psi. Don't be afraid to go to 50 or 55. The cheap ones reduce flow while trying to reduce pressure. I have the Watts 263A from the Rv Water Filter Store and like it but others have had good luck with the Valterra or Renator for half the price. Add an Oxygenics shower head and you will think you are at home.

I can’t get by NOT hooking up city water because of the damage that may occur from a bursting water line or fitting. That’s why God made fresh water tanks...to avoid bursting.... And to leave your campsite and not turn off the city water? Foolish!

the inline non adjustables will fail after a while. it might be one year it might be three years but they will fail on you, just when you are taking your morning shower, never fails. this is why the we went to the adjustable regulator.

I’ve been wondering the same thing as we are going to be moving to a spot that has pretty good pressure but I hate the flow through our cheap regulator.

Been using the same Camco "Hi flow" for more than 10 years and it still regulates perfectly.

Janss - Get a Watts adjustable regulator. I had a regulator that wore out and did not know it. Caused thousands of dollars in damage. The Watts one I have also solved the flow issue. It has lots of flow. Before I bought the Watts I bought a Valerta adjustable. The pressure gauge stopped working on it soon after I bought it. Valerta sent me a replacement gauge but it was the wrong one. So I just wanted the best regulator I could find and it is the Watts.

The excess pressure problem cause a LOT of damage. Plus it was a royal PIA. I had it fixed once and then another leak popped up as we were driving across a long highway bridge and flooded the floor. Several floodings caused a minor delam on one of the walls. Most of these regulators have springs in them that wear out over time. Another way to get around the problem is to just always use the tank water. We have a high flow pump and that puts out a lot of flow and pressure.

I have been using a Watts 263A for the past 7+ years full time. Due to scale build up from my home base water supply I have had to clean this regulator several times with CLR and put rebuild kit parts in it twice, but it keeps on working perfectly. I keep the pressure set to the low 50's.

We don’t often use the campground water supply but when we do we just use a camco fixed regulator. Some have suggested these can fail at some point. My question is what fails? I certainly don’t want to damage the RV plumbing but for us the pressure using the low cost Camco is just fine.

Not sure, been using those for 30+ years and never had one fail.
I did have to replace the Watts reg. on our house last year...

Go to a big box store (Home Depot, Lowes) and get a Watts
